Central WA State Fair The adventure started with getting Sal and Tess accustomed to being bathed and standing around tied up. That was the easy part. The roadtrip itself started at 4:45 AM Wednesday morning. Sal and Tess were thinking, "What is going on?? Can't you see we are sleeping?!" They piled into the trailer onto a bed of fresh shavings wondering what would happen next. At the stop for fuel and coffee, we discovered a trailer tire that needed changing. After all of that, we finally made it to Yakima at about 10:30 AM. Sal was asked to participate in an FFA Youth Judging competition. The competitors try their hand at evaluating the animals and placing them. The youths are scored more on their logic and explanation for placing the animals than on the actual placement order. Sal's job was to be one of the subjects in a Junior Bull class. ![]() Tess was asked to participate in a Novice Youth Fitting and Showing class. Tess and the young man are both novices to this!! ![]() The best part was visiting with all of the fair-goers! ![]() Sal and Tess did a great PR job for the Lowline breed! ![]() |
